Running, echinacea and healthy breakfast options.

November 22, 2008

All week I’ve made wonderful breakfast morning milk shakes. My Dad’s has extra fruit (berry) juice. They’re thick, creamy and hydrating. Even our adopted cat’s enjoying them …
The past fortnight I’ve either used Pumpkin seed or almond milk with …

Local organic apples, ground flax seeds and maca powder. For extra sweetness and potassium, I add a banana or soaked goji berries (or another dried fruit) overnight in water until plump to make Sunset Smoothie. 1 pt Milk, goji berries and soak water, flax, apples and maca.

On Wednesday after teaching yoga, I’ve visited the local farmer’s market stall in Greenwich. The lady there says that the broccoli and celery were picked just the previous day! It’s beautiful. The veg really are so vibrant; organic means supporting, local, where possible. Less chemicals on Earth, more nutrients for us.

I’ve run a 10k race around Finsbury Park in London recently and my nomination onto the Vegan Runners UK committee has been accepted. It’s wonderful for any aspiring raw / vegan athlete.
